The course provides insight into current situation in Europe (war in Ukraine, relations of EU and EU states with Russia). It starts with historical background of Europe in 20th and 21st century which transfers to historical policy and narration of different countries. Historical policy transfers into nations’ history teaching programs which heavily influences mentality of people and political agenda. It is especially the case with Russia/Soviet Union where history differs much from what is considered history in other European countries. Then, students will be familiarised with economics of most important countries in Europe and of course Russia and their mutual economical relations especially regarding commodities and agricultural products. Students will be presented a detailed study of reasons and consequences of current war in Ukraine and its influence on European and Global politics and economics. Potential ways the conflict may end will be discussed, together with possible new situation in post-war Europe.
